Services for citizens
The Library of Parliament is open to the public. Its specialist fields are parliamentary information, legal information and social and political information.Anyone can obtain a library card. Users can borrow materials in person or through another library as an interlibrary loan. The library has extensive collections and up-to-date information is available in the SELMA database. SELMA can be accessed on the library's website. New titles are listed in the database according to subject. Information Service gives answers to questions in the fields of parliamentary information, legal information and social and political information. The Information Service's specialists provide assistance by phone, by e-mail or directly to users visiting the library. The library arranges free and open training in how to search for information. You can use the library's reading rooms, computers with Internet connections and copiers. You can also use your own laptops in the library. All the library's basic services are free of charge.
