Archive of Parliament


The Archive of Parliament is part of the Library of Parliament. The documents that are kept in the Archive of Parliament are available to the public.

The Archive includes documents created in the course of parliamentary work as well as special collections. It houses original documents dating back to 1863. Most materials are available on microfilm.
Documents can be used in the Reading Room on the Service Floor. If a document is ordered from the Reference and Archival Services Desk before 3.30 p.m. (Monday-Friday), it can be used the same day.

The Archive of Parliament is open:
Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Microfilmed documents are loaned to provincial archives and many libraries.

Printed parliamentary documents are available at provincial libraries around the country, for example.
