Stored documents

The documents related to the parliamentary work of the Diet and the unicameral Parliament constitute the most significant part of the Archive of Parliament both in terms of substance and volume. This material is remarkably comprehensive and available in various forms. There are well-maintained indices available for reference when searching for specific information.

The Parliament's administrative documents comprise, among other things, minutes of the Office Commission, list of the decisions by the Secretary-General and Administrative Director, dockets of administrative matters, salary and account documents, and documents of various development working groups. This material is not entirely comprehensive for the oldest documents.

The documents stored in special collections complement the archives of Parliament and Diet in a variety of ways. The extent of the special collections varies from a single archival box to tens of boxes. Of the separate administrative units of Parliament, only the Finnish Delegation to the Nordic Council has thus far handed over its documents to the Archive of Parliament.
